การเปรียบเทียบคุณศัพท์ 
 DEGREE OF COMPARISON 

การเปรียบเทียบคุณศัพท์มีอยู่สามขั้น คือ
    1. Positive degree ขั้นปรกติ
    2. Comparative degree ขั้นกว่า หรือขั้นวิเศษ
    3. Superlative degree    ขั้นที่สุด,หรือขั้นอติวิเศษ

ถ้าเปรียบเทียบก็จะมี                  จะเติม er ถ้าระบุตัว เปรียบ               จะใช้ the.....และเติม est
 As.........as  หรือ                    เทียบก็จะมี than อยู่หลัง                ถ้าเปรียบเทียบมี of ตาม
Not so......as วางอยู่หน้า                                                            หลัง
และหลัง

I am as tall as my father.         I am taller than my sister.           I am the tallest in my  family   
 ผมสูงเท่ากับพ่อของผม              ผมสูงกว่าพี่สาวของผม             ผมสูงที่สุดในครอบครัว

        คำคุณศัพท์ที่ไม่ได้เติม er หรือ est แต่ใ้ช้ most  นำหน้า ถ้าคำคุณศัพท์นั้นที่เติมวิภัติปัจจัย (prefix-suffix) หรือมีเสียงมากกว่าสองเสียง
