หลักการใช้ apostrophe ( ' )
1.ใช้เติมหลังนามและสรรพนาม เมื่อแสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ เติมหลังเอกพจน์และพหูพจน์ โดยการเติม s หรือเติม ' เช่น Smith's pen. Tom 's house.
2. ใช้ย่อคำให้สั้น เรียกว่า Contracted form............. หรือ from 'm =am aren't = are not
